Benefits of Membership

     We encourage everyone who attends our dances to consider joining the Sacramento Ballroom Society. There are many benefits to joining. Here are the major points:

1. Save money - Our members pay only $7 admission per dance, while guests pay $10. If you think you will attend 7 or more dances a year then joining us will definitely benefit you.
   
2. Newsletter - We periodically send out dance news, reminders, and updates for our members so that everyone knows what's happening in the dance world. We also keep track of what else is going on in the area with our friends and associates and dancing in general. Sometimes we include special discounts and promotionals to our members through the newsletter.
   
3. Insurance - All members in good standing fall under our umbrella insurance program. This insurance is provided through the Folk Dance Federation of California, Inc. The small print can viewed with adobe acrobat reader here.
   
4. Friends - The most important benefit of joining is to meet other members. We are friendly and supportive and are here to dance. Newcomers are always welcome and you will always find people willing to help you learn.
   
5. Fun - We have a large floor, good music, and enthusiastic dancers. We are the only club that routinely dances international ballroom socially. We are proud to have many talented dancers. Beginners do not need to worry, we accommodate all skill levels. Everyone is encouraged to come out and dance. We make sure everyone gets on the floor and has a good time at our dances.

     We dance twice a month at the Ultimate Dancesport on Kiefer Blvd. We enjoy ballroom, latin, and swing, but our emphasis is on ballroom. Come out and dance with us for an enjoyable evening of of ballroom, latin, and swing.

Cost of membership

     Membership dues are $20 per year. Each term of membership begins on January 1st and expires on December 31st. For members who join mid-year, we do offer a prorated due. Members who join in the month of July or later will only be charged $10 for the remainder of the year. All memberships expire every December 31st, regardless of when a member joined. The best way to join is to come to one of our dances and see what we are all about. Once there, you can meet and talk with our members and pick up an application to join.

     For our friends in the Folk Dance Federation, we have a special offer for membership. Email us or show up at any dance with proof of membership in any of the organizations that belong to the Folk Dance Federation, and we will reduce your membership dues by $5.      Membership is open to anyone who enjoys dancing and wants to promote and/or learn all varieties of dances. Minors (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Minors may also apply to the Society with a written letter of approval from their legal guardian(s) which must accompany their application. To join, all that we ask is you read our club rules. Membership indicates acceptance of the Sacramento Ballroom Society's rules. We need only your name, address, phone number, email address, dues, and signature. All information is kept confidential and will not be bought, sold or rented to third parties. Your contact information will not be published in any open club roster without your express written permission.

     You can apply online by filling out the form below. We will confirm you membership by email, then we will put your name on the guest list and your fees will be due at the next dance you attend. To benefit from our insurance we need your home address, no PO boxes please. All information is kept confidential. No one will contact you unless you are involved in a claim. Your email is kept with the Sacramento Ballroom Society and is only used for official announcements and schedule reminders.
